Techniques such as voice and gesture control and fully automated driving are possible with the ID models. The ID vehicles travel with a battery charge up to 600 km. The lithium ion batteries installed in the vehicles meet all the requirements of of the legislators.

The requirements to be met are:
1. Production according to the quality management program
2. Existing UN test series 38.3
3. Short-circuit protection
4. safety venting device against overpressure and violent rupture
5. Devices which prevent dangerous reverse current
