The International Battery Seminar & Exhibit also offers interesting two-hour tutorials:
For persons who need to develop Risk Assessments e.g. the tutorial by Shmuel De-Leon (CEO, Shmuel De -Leon Energy, Ltd.) on the topic: Battery Safety and Abuse Tolerance Validation
For cell / battery developers e.g. the tutorial by Andy Miller (Senior Analyst, Benchmark Mineral Intelligence) and Simon Mores (Managing Director, Benchmark Mineral Intelligence) on the topic: 21st Century Battery Raw Materials
For persons who develop Quality Management Programs e.g. the tutorial by James Kaschmitter (CEO, SpectraPower) on the topic: Li-ion cell design and manufacturing: processes, equipment and quality control
On the topic recycling there are also different tutorials offered.
There is also a tutorial on the topic: Lithium battery transport regulations: Past, Present and Future – New packaging for air transport and development of new hazard-based classification system by Christopher Egloff (Vice President, Sales Americase, Inc.) together with George A. Kerchner (Executive Director, PRBA – The Rechargeable Battery Association).
Parallel there are numerous tutorials and presentations on the topics:
+ Next-Generation Battery Research – Advances in material, chemical and electrochemical engineering
+ Lithium-ion development & commercialization

We aren´t able to attend this year but feel free to share your impressions of the International Battery Seminar & Exhibit with us.
And a small not for your flight to the USA or within the USA to Florida: Please remember that for each lithium cell and lithium battery in your baggage irrespective of whether it is contained in equipment or carried as spare you must have a declaration of conformity that the UN Test Series 38.3 was passed successfully.
Also all spare cells and spare batteries need to be individually protected against short circuit and must be carried in carry-on baggage. Powerbanks are considered spare cells / batteries.
Should you have a powerbank with a Watt-hour rating exceeding 100 Wh you need the approval of the airline and the maximum Watt-hour rating for a powerbank in carry-on baggage is 160 Wh. Powerbanks may not be used on board an aircraft and may not be charged on board either.
An overview of the regulations on the carriage of lithium cells and lithum batteries in passenger baggage can be found under this link:
