To comply with US Customs and Border Protection ACE and ACAS reporting requirements for all cargo originating from international locations and transported to the US, effective 12th June 2019 Hawaiian Airlines will only accept House Air Waybill Numbers with a maximum of 12 Alphanumeric characters. All House AWBs numbers in excess of 12 Alphanumeric characters will be rejected.
The following key data elements on each HAWB must be met:
1. HAWB number with a maximum of 12 Alphanumeric characters.
2. Shipper Name and Address - individual name or name of business and a valid
street address with city/province country and postal code.
3. Consignee name and address - individual name or name of business and a valid street address with city/province country and postal code.
4. Cargo description - generic cargo descriptions should be avoided
5. Total Quantity - based on the smallest external packing unit
6. Total Weight - total weight of cargo expressed in pounds or kilograms
And of course if you´re shipping dangerous goods you have to include the respective details in the Air Waybill,too.
Are you shipping lithium cells or batteries?
For each national and international transport as per ICAO TI resp. IATA DGR in air transport, IMDG Code in sea transport and ADR in road transport it´s the shippers duty to only ship lithium cells and lithium batteries that were manufactured according to the quality management program described in the transport regulations.

UN Test Series 38.3
But this requirement is also layed out in the 49 CFR for transports within the USA: Each lithium cell and each lithium battery (with the exception of pre-production prototypes and small series up to 100 pieces) must have successfully passed the UN Test Series 38.3.

From 01. January 2020 onwards each manufacturer and subsequent distributor needs to provide a UN 38.3 Test Summary. We adjusted our Supplier Inquiry Form to that effect. And we provide the document to you free of charge:
