Electrical safety
Batteries are electrical equipment. A thorough assessment of the electrical risks posed by energy storage devices—regardless of whether they are used in stationary, portable, or personal applications—is necessary for all life cycles. As a court-appointed expert for batteries and battery-powered vehicles, a neutral perspective is guaranteed.
Dangerous goods ADR
Batteries – regardless of whether they are new, damaged, or even just used – pose assessable thermal and electrical hazards due to the potential differences that exist. As deputy chairman of the DKE working group for the DIN VDE V 0510-500 standard “Procedure for deactivating lithium-ion batteries prior to the recycling process,” I work on safe working methods to enable such batteries to be transported and recycled without danger.
Technical expertise and specialist knowledge
However, ensuring that personnel who come into contact with and work with batteries have sufficient electrical engineering qualifications is also an area of expertise for the engineering firm Rüdiger Mann, which has been working intensively on these issues since 2008. BG ETEM has certified the owner in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17024 as a live working (AuS) trainer for generators, switchgear, PV systems, MSR systems, direct current/energy storage systems, and vehicles with high-voltage systems.
We are a consulting company that specialises in the technology and safety of Li-ion batteries, among other things.
This includes, among other things, the analysis of hazards, risks and damage patterns of Li-ion batteries and the evaluation with regard to their transportability and storability as well as their continued usability.
XBS GmbH was founded in 2018 by Dipl.-Ing. Lars Hollmotz in Potsdam. He builds on many years of experience in the automotive industry, from international projects and consulting for small and medium-sized enterprises.
